RedHawks Weekly News 8.18.24

Happy Sunday Kanawha Family!

Your friendly weekly news update! Jamboree this past Saturday was successful in getting some work done and identifying where we need to improve. Your players worked hard and we can’t wait until our first game. Remember that practice times have changed starting tomorrow.
Football will practice on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm – 7:30pm.
Cheer will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm – 7:30pm.

Picture day has been split between 2 days – Football on Monday (8/19) and Cheer (8/20) on Tuesday. You can pay at the field by credit card through the photographer or order online. Please ensure we have our kids there by 6pm. They will take individual photos as well as team photos. All football players need to wear their cleats, black football pants and jersey. All cheerleaders must wear their white cheer shoes, white ankle socks, skirt, lollies, vest and bow.
Note: Make-up pictures have not been scheduled at this time.

Our roster night is the 21st – if you haven’t turned in a PHYSICAL ID you need to turn it in on Monday or your football player will not be able to play in the game on Saturday.

Game Day Information
Our first game is a night game at the Kanawha Field. We will be playing against Mechanicsville. First game starts at 4pm with flag, 8U at 5pm, 10U at 6pm and 12U at 7pm. Note that some games may not start right on time as it depends on the previous game. Please arrive when your coach tells you to arrive for warm ups. If your child will not be at the game, tell your coach now so they can make plans and plays ahead of time. Ensure all volunteer assignments have been filled. If you still have a spot open on your team, please fill it. This ranges from clock, snacks, concessions and more. Remember we run off volunteers. Game day can be exciting and fun until that one person ruins it for others. Remember the code of ethics form we all sign and ensure we all act right on the sidelines.

We can’t wait for a great week ahead. Good luck with first day back to school and we will see everyone this week!
